Wondering what drives a mortal to venture into the precincts of giants or bequeaths a stripling confidence is a good starting quiz ?
How easily can it be to awaken a lost generation, or restore sanity to a society that has wandered astray is really the focus.
To succeed at any leadership task one must be paired to a God who dissolves doubts and makes impossibilities vanish.
To expect that all will be pleased with everything one does or doesn’t, is being simply pollyannaish, try not to please mortals.
Human loyalty exist in trace quantities, their wants and expectations are both diverse and insatiable, and by these attributes, when things go wrong the one who leads is blamed, even though when all things are bright and beautiful, such a person seldom gets any gratification.
In leadership one is expected to step on toes, while fighting for and protecting the interest of those being lead, every associated wrath or risks that come with such expectations remain solely the leader’s.
In situations when the leader fails to act as declared above, such a leaders is presumed weak, biased or thought of as being hostage to a cabal with opposing interest to the people’s, sometimes it gets worse the leader is presumed as being downright corrupt.
The leitmotif I grew up hearing my parents and those of that generation recant repeatedly is “politics is a dirty and deadly game”.
Somehow that gave majority of them, presumably good people in that generation reasons to alienate themselves from affairs of running their state, and this nonfeasance on their part is a contributory factor to the present state of Nigeria.
Over decades, I have observed how those expected to leap frog Nigeria into a developed nation, have brazenly and arrogantly done contrary, while the politically apathetic good people, standby watching their country crash in slow-motion, just as Saul and the whole army of Israel watched helplessly as Goliath defied them and profaned their God and heritage.
I have witnessed economic boom mismanaged till it becomes a phenomenal bust;
I have seen the death and decay of public institutions become a steady and unquestioned trend;
I have watched the structure of the Federation and its laws being watered down, trampled upon and subverted by elements and interest groups that aspire and appear to be a law and state to themselves;
I have seen the people of Nigeria abused by their own, and worst still oppressed by foreigners on their home soils,
All these have brought my ad nauseam to its summit, prompting me to rise up to that which others run away from;
Its made me vow not to kick the can down the road as many have mindlessly done, knowing and assuring all that, as i venture into state affairs :-
I will serve the people, striking a perfect balance at expectations of leadership,
I will fine tune the relationship between the people of Nigeria and its Government at all levels,
I will enhance the efficiencies of all government ministry, departments, or agencies,
I will ensure Nigeria remains one Nation where everybody respects its laws,
I will restore the lost dignity of the people of Nigeria among all nations.
I will troubleshoot the nation Nigeria and make it work, as a moral and a stripling i lay these claims.
